How we review payroll guidance
Swift Payrolls publishes practical South African payroll guidance connected to the workflows available in our web application. We separate product instructions from tax or legal advice, cite primary sources, and show review dates on every guide.

Our review process
The Swift Payrolls product team owns the guide library and checks product steps against the current web workflow before publishing or materially updating a guide.
Step 1
Start with the reader task
We define the payroll question the page must answer and remove copy that does not help complete that task.
Step 2
Check the product workflow
Buttons, routes, plan limits, editable preview steps, and PDF actions are checked against the current web application.
Step 3
Verify regulated facts
PAYE, UIF, and minimum-wage statements are checked against current official South African sources.
Step 4
Publish dates and limitations
Each guide shows when it was reviewed and explains where an estimate or general explanation is not professional advice.
Primary sources we use
We prefer the South African Revenue Service, the Department of Employment and Labour, South African Government notices, and enacted legislation over secondary summaries. Product claims are limited to functionality available on Swift Payrolls.
Primary source for annual South African income-tax brackets and age-based thresholds.
Official reference for UIF contribution responsibilities and employer context.
Official 2026 announcement confirming R30.23 per ordinary hour from 1 March 2026.
When content is updated
- When SARS publishes tax tables, rebates, or thresholds for a new tax year.
- When the national minimum wage or UIF rules referenced by a guide change.
- When Swift Payrolls changes a route, plan limit, calculation, or payslip workflow.
- When a reader identifies a factual error or a source is withdrawn or replaced.
Corrections and limitations
Calculators provide estimates based on the inputs and published tables described on the page. Swift Payrolls does not submit PAYE or UIF and does not replace advice from SARS, the Department of Employment and Labour, a tax practitioner, or a labour-law professional.
To report an error, email support@swiftpayrolls.com with the page URL, the statement that needs correction, and the supporting source.
