SARS 2027 monthly PAYE tables

This calculator is a payroll estimate for regular monthly remuneration. It does not handle every tax directive, fringe benefit, lump sum, irregular commission, or unusual payroll case.

How the PAYE calculator works

Enter the monthly gross salary and age of the employee. Swift Payrolls uses the South African payroll calculation logic already used in the payslip workflow to estimate PAYE, UIF employee contribution, total employee deductions, and net salary.

The PAYE calculator estimate is based on the SARS 2027 monthly employees tax deduction tables. Age matters because SARS tables apply different rebate and threshold treatment for employees under 65, 65 to 74, and 75 or older.

The UIF estimate applies the employee contribution at 1% of remuneration and caps the employee deduction at R177.12 once the R17,712 monthly UIF earnings ceiling is reached. Employers also contribute their own 1% UIF portion.

This calculator covers a regular monthly estimate from gross remuneration and age. It does not model every deduction, fringe benefit, directive, retirement-fund contribution, or unusual payroll circumstance. Confirm exceptional cases against SARS guidance or with a qualified tax practitioner.

From calculator to payslip

A PAYE or payroll calculator is useful for a quick payroll estimate. A payslip is the employee-facing payroll record. After using this page, create a Swift Payrolls account to add the employee, preview the payslip, add custom income or deduction lines such as commission or a loan repayment, and generate the PDF.
